Prenatal and postnatal care provided by a multidisciplinary craniofacial team to optimize feeding, growth and development outcomes is described in this course. Assessment and treatment approaches before and following surgical interventions, including those for mandibular distraction osteogenesis (MDO), cleft lip, and cleft palate, are shared. Common myths regarding cyber threats and defenses in healthcare, and their impact on providers, patients and vendors, are discussed in this course. The pitfalls of using cybersecurity analogies and how to question assumptions and avoid future myths are also addressed.

New information is emerging about how cluttering may impact those living with it. Evidence about the importance of cluttering awareness and client perspectives for providing effective services, and treatment strategies such as interactive listening, as well as clinical application of these findings, are discussed in this course.

An overview of various types of artificial airways is presented in this course. The process for carrying out speaking trials with speaking valves and/or trach caps, and strategies for managing potential emergencies, are discussed.

This is Part 2 of a two-part series. Evidence from the literature that supports incorporation of patient and care partner needs and priorities into clinical goal setting and functional therapeutic interventions for individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI) is discussed in this course. Case studies are presented to demonstrate the application of these patient-centered practices.

The Comprehensive Assessment of Articulation and Intelligibility (CAAI), a research-based, data-driven approach to accent management, and its use in screening, assessment, goal setting, and progress monitoring are described in this course. The need for cultural responsiveness, bias awareness and adherence to principles of anti-racist communication when providing these services is also discussed.
