Presenter: Katarina Haley PhD, CCC-SLP

Katarina Haley is professor in the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and co-director of the UNC Center for Aphasia and Related Disorders. Her research is focused on diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of acquired apraxia of speech and on collaborate intervention models for adults living with aphasia.

Presenter: Anne Reed MS, CCC-SLP

Anne Reed, MS, CCC-SLP has valuable experience working in public schools as well as with students with dyslexia.  Her research interests include speech sound disorder therapy dosage and intensity on progress, type of reading instruction and its impact on future special education referrals, and state stakeholder (e.g., DOE, legislators) awareness of new speech sound development data and the subsequent impact on SPED eligibility.  Anne is currently working on a study coaching paraeducators in shared book reading techniques. 

Anne is a doctoral student funded by the Institute of Education Sciences, U.S. Department of Education, through Grant R305B200020 to the Florida Center for Reading Research at Florida State University. This grant paid for her time on this project. The opinions expressed are those of the authors and do not represent views of the Institute or the U.S. Department of Education.

Presenter: Jennifer Whited PhD, CCC-SLP

Jennifer Whited, PhD, CCC-SLP is an assistant professor and clinical supervisor in the Speech-Language Pathology Program at the University of Louisiana - Monroe. She teaches in the areas of literacy impairment, infant language, professional issues and adult neurological disorders. Dr. Whited is the director of the Community Literacy Project at ULM, which is a special research project that serves Monroe area students, schools and parents to support individuals with literacy impairments. Dr. Whited's research interests include childhood language and literacy impairment as well as aphasia in adults.
